IMAGINE: 

• To assist the Bendigo Medical Group to expand by creating a brand new modern facility in Epsom.

 

CHALLENGE:

• Long narrow site which somewhat constrained the shape of the building.

• Contemporary design in an area in which modern looking buildings are scarce.

• Overland flow path cut through the length of the site which resulted in the entire building to be raised to avoid future flooding.

 

SOLVE:

• Long walkway required for building access due to site shape turned into main feature design element.

• Fire sprinklers avoided for windows in close proximity to site boundary, with all consulting rooms having outlook to private garden along the boundary.

• Floor level successfully raised with disabled access still maintained from street and car park.

• Storm water integrated as benefit to all neighbouring sites.
