Successful conversion of office tower into inner city hotel for Pacific International Hotel!

IMAGINE: 

  • Strategic redevelopment to create Pacific International Hotel in central CBD of Melbourne.

 

CHALLENGE:

  • Conversion of an inner city 22 storey office tower into a hotel and serviced apartment development. Challenges were externally to solve traffic and servicing to the hotel, as well as internally for the conversion to suit contemporary market expectations, efficient room sizes and efficiencies of back of house and functional interrelationships between all areas.

  • Capitalise on panoramic views.

 

SOLVE:

  • Successful delivery for the Pacific International Hotel Group, resolving access and egress in a tight city block by working closely with the MCC.  

  • F&B economised due to the strategic location of the CBD, and design achieved target of 240 guest rooms.

  • Two additional floors were added to the project to create the serviced apartments. This provided financial viability and variety of offering, plus providing panoramic views to upper levels.
